From the Juan Santamaría Airport near San Jose, Costa Rica:
(Approx. 4 hour drive)

You are actually right outside the town of Alajuela when you arrive at the airport. Tilaran is approx. 22km from Canas. When you enter the town of Tilaran you will immediately take a sharp left turn (almost a “U” turn) on to the road to Nuevo Arenal (visual marker: the restaurant “Aroma Tico” on the left side of the road). As you travel out of Tilaran, you will need to watch for the “Y” in the road a few hundred yards after the gasoline station (Gasolinera Lago Arenal). Be sure to bear LEFT towards Arenal and not go down the hill to Tronadora. You will travel 30 km from Tilaran to Nuevo Arenal. At the top of the hill as you enter Nuevo Arenal you will see the town Gymnasium on your left hand side. Turn left onto the unpaved road. You will travel 2.5 km on this gravel road until you reach Villa Paradise on your right at the top of the hill. It is well marked; you enter the property beside the stables.
